Before FileMaker offered its own cloud hosting solution, Dan lead a project to research, evaluate and engage an optimal FileMaker hosting specialist partner. Dan lead the shift of multiple locally hosted databases to the cloud, which involved many moving parts including syncing of data and reconfiguring client connections. In doing so, upgraded the connections to utilize domain based paths, which proved valuable on subsequent upgrades. Prior to doing so, Dan also discovered that there was no off-site storage of the database backups. This issue was simultaneously addressed with the change in hosting.
